Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince (born 28 August 1842, vanished 16 September 1890) was an inventor who is generally recognized as the first person to record motion images on film.
In October 1888, Le Prince filmed Roundhay Garden Scene, which is thought to be the world’s first successful attempt to record moving images, and hence the very first motion picture film.He followed this with a film of a Leeds Bridge street scene. These were several years before the work of competing inventors such as Thomas Edison and Auguste and Louis Lumière.
